In my opinion, I disagree and agree with his theory. Sigmund Freud theory about personality relates to how every individual person's brain thinks and acts. By mainly focusing on leaving the island. Even thought they were stuck on the island and don't know what to do he encourages the group to stay brave, because he is putting the sentiment in their head that they will escape the island. 'We want to be rescued and of course we shall be rescued'(37). Ralph is the leader of the group that does the humane thing to escape the island. The last personality of Sigmund Freud theory is evidenced in the kid Ralph. The superego,Piggy, desires to know everybody names just in case of an emergency. What yer name?' Piggy shows that he cares for the little kids. He thinks of the well being of others rather than doing something risky. In this quotes Piggy wants everybody to be safe before going out to hunt. This is shown in the quotes 'The first thing we otha make is shelter.'(45). He conceives for the better of the group, compared to what Jack thinks. Piggy, in the meantime is the Superego that contradicts Jack in the narration. This is how Golding used 'Id' in the form of Jack. To satisfy his enjoyment of hunting, he avoided doing what he is told to do and went off on his own. He is the one that controls the Id, from peer pressuring the Superego. Overall, the Ego is the balance between the 2 personalities. He is the one who would choose to do the correct thing, compare to the Id where they would hazard the consequences for their own desires. Finally the Superego is the person who is governed by society. The Ego is the person who thinks things out before they act. So for example is if they wanted a cookie, they will get the cookie even if they have to hurt somebody for it.

They also are the one who has the feeling of desires. The, Id is the selfish side and is the one whom solely cares about themselves and no one else. His theory stated that each person is born with one of these 3 personality. The 3 main functions of the mind id the id, ego and superego according to Sigmund Freud. In the story the 3 personalities affected the boys, this is what causes them to do the things they did. Finally the kids were rescued from the island, but 3 children passed away because of their activities. This cause the death of other children and a fire to happen. They are trying to survive on the island, but over time the pressure of living without adults affect them and change how they think.
